EMW Advisory was founded on the premise that the world doesn’t need another consulting firm.

 

We need more community, more collaboration, more containers to openly speak about and address the challenges we are facing, so we can address them as a collective.

 

A Collective /kəˈlɛktɪv/ (noun, adjective) is a curated community of experts, coming together to collaborate and elevate impact and results, for ourselves and for our clients. An eclectic team of seasoned experts in their own domains, that bring a precise skill-set and years of expertise. Individually, everyone in our collective is a force to be reckoned with in their own right; collectively, we become a tribe with seemingly superhero powers.

Erika Masako Welch

Managing Partner

Erika founded EMW Advisory after spending 15 years building and growing several boutique strategy consulting firms across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Having nurtured strong relationships with both experts in the field and clients across the world, she built EMW Advisory to consciously design an advisory firm for the present-day workforce and marketplace. She saw many opportunities to meet the needs of her Fortune 500 clients, regional MNC clients, and start-up clients simultaneously. Erika has extensive experience across over 30 different industry verticals, and is a thought leader on entrepreneurship and the tech ecosystem in the Middle East, growth hacking in emerging markets, and sustainability management and ESG leadership. She She has led multicultural teams to deliver client projects in over 40 countries for her Fortune 500 clients. Erika speaks English, Japanese, conversational French and survival Arabic. She holds degrees from McGill University (B.Sc) and the University of Cambridge (PCSB). She also graduated from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business with an Executive MBA (MSx) in the heart of Silicon Valley where she developed strategies for Global Companies using design thinking and digital transformation approaches. She has worked in over 30 countries, and travelled to over 70, is an avid scuba-diver, yogi, and adventure enthusiast.

Ashok Raman

Finance & Strategy Consulting

Ashok is a growth strategy consultant specialized in high growth emerging markets. He has a particularly strong track-record across heavy industry sectors across India and South East Asia. Ashok has over 10 years of professional experience covering market research, strategy consulting and financial consulting to support large multinationals enter and grow in emerging markets. He has served Fortune 500 clients in conducting marketing opportunity assessments, feasibility studies, partner and distributor searches, and conduct deep-dive assessments for private equity firms looking for third-party validation on their investments. Ashok also has had previous stints with private equity and investment banking players conducting due diligence on M&A mandates. Ashok holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and also holds a diploma in Finance.

Anamika Patel

Change Management, Learning & Development Lead

Anamika is a change maker with 14 years of management consulting experience. She brings confidence, competence and care to clients and their complex project needs. Having worked at Accenture for over a decade, she oversaw change management and digital learning and development programs across Fortune 500 clients globally. Anamika is passionate about helping clients see organizational change not as a destination, but as journey that is designed by working with people, their desires, fears, dreams and motivations as well as internal drivers. She is a proven stakeholder relationship builder with the ability to act as an ambassador, influencer and facilitator. Anamika has a keen interest in projects with social impact, as well as those which play at the intersection between technology and wellness/lifestyle. She values work that changes people’s lives and helps them live better. She is a creative collaborator, problem-solver with a magic eye for detail and builds strong and happy teams. Anamika received a BA in Economics with Chinese Studies from the University of Nottingham, UK.

Rida El Chab

Growth Strategy Consulting Lead

Rida is a seasoned strategy consultant, having worked across Europe, the Middle East and Asia for nearly 10 years. Today, Rida is a Product Performance Manager for one of the largest food delivery companies in the world. He conducts data analysis and maps customer journeys to develop real-time customer engagement strategies for the various food delivery subsidiaries in Europe and the Middle East. Rida excels in Market Growth Studies, Market entry, and Quantitative Studies and has led projects across the GCC, North Africa, as well as in the far East. But his ultimate super-power is in his structured consulting approach to every project he takes on, making him the ultimate project leader. Rida obtained a MSc in Quantitative Economics and Finance from the University of Lyon in France. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from the University of Lyon. Rida speaks fluent English, French, and Arabic.

Shereen Abdullah

Multimedia Content Producer, Story Teller and Podcaster

Shereen is passionate about story-telling and communication, and is itching to tell client stories better and bring these stories onto 21st century (online) mediums. She’s passionate about entrepreneurship and edutainment. She brings 12+ years of innovation management and entrepreneurship experience to the table across the financial and tech industries. Shereen also has extensive experience fostering start-up eco-systems and entrepreneurship education. Shereen has consulted banks and government entities on corporate innovation, and began podcasting out of a passion to reach a wider audience with regionally-specific tech and entrepreneurial insights. She wears many hats from news editor, podcast and digital media content producer, and podcast host. Her clients span the entrepreneurial spectrum, with a focus on fintech in the region, Shereen received a B.Sc from the London School of Economics in Management Sciences. She’s a Bahraini that calls Dubai home, and she speak English and Arabic fluently. She’s also a cross-fit junkie and a mass consumer of bio-hacking podcasts.

Hamza Ibrahim

Growth Strategy Consulting

Hamza has been working on developing growth strategies and conducting commercial due diligence assignments at EMW Advisory for the past five years. Having a background in market research, Hamza has an intuitive knack for mining data through both primary and secondary research. He has worked for various Fortune 500 clients across automotive, construction and construction materials, FMCG, healthcare, manufacturing and diagnostics. His consulting assignments span the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Pakistan and Sub-Saharan Africa. Hamza excels at utilizing our networks to gather critical on-the-ground knowledge to support our clients define a data-backed go-to-market strategy. He speaks English and Urdu and graduated from Lahore University of Management Sciences.

Maysam Rawashdeh

Sustainability & ESG

Maysam is a sustainability professional and enthusiast with over 10 years of experience in sustainable development projects in the MENA region. She advises public and private organisations on their sustainability business case and its integration within their long-term business strategies and plans. She also manages the delivery of projects that support organisations in developing ESG strategies, communicating on their ESG performance in accordance with leading international guidelines as well as helping them understand the impact of their activities on the economy, society and environment. She is passionate about streamlining sustainability in the region and provides capacity building on sustainability and impact measurement areas as well as implementation to internalise the sustainability agenda and culture. Maysam has worked with a range of sustainability consulting agencies, including EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services Practice. She has a MSc in Environmental Economics from the University of York (Canada) and a BSc in Environment, Land and Water from the University of Jordan. She is fluently bilingual in English and Arabic.

Frank Olaya

Online Marketing & Social Media Management Lead

Frank has 15+ years of experience in online marketing, content creation, and social media management. Frank has worked all angles, having started his career in-house as an agency team member, having then moved over to the client side, and now as a consultant, through his own digital strategy and creative content studio based in Amsterdam. Frank has worked with clients in Europe, North America, and South America over the years, and has studied the evolution of digital communications from its beginnings, including the nuances seen in each market. He received his BA in Management Engineering from the National University in Colombia, a Strategic Sales and Marketing Certification from the University of The Andes, and a Graphic Design Diploma from Shaw Academy in Canada. He has also garnered several certifications for UX and UI design at the Interaction Design Foundation. Frank is fluent in English and Spanish. Frank is passionate about graphic design, social media and electronic music – and spends his time working on creative projects that in his own words “make the world a bit more interesting”.

Alejandro Ramirez

Data Analytics & Customer Experience Lead

Alejandro is a data junkie with a decade of experience making sense of data to grow businesses. In the world we live in today, where data has become the new oil, Alejandro is the engineer that extrapolates the most value out of every ounce of data owned by a company. He slices, splices and stitches together data from different channels, in order to develop marketing and business analytics management systems from the ground-up, so organizations can understand critical and actionable findings in real-time about their product, operations, and most importantly their customers. He has held various roles over the last decade in Customer Intelligence, Customer Experience and Business Data Analytics, and has worked with data from various industries spanning Real Estate, Retail, Digital/eCommerce and Healthcare. Alejandro received his B.Sc in Accounting from Univeresidad Rafael Urdaneta, and several business analytics certifications from Harvard Business School, Coursera, Tableau, Qlik, Google and Amazon. He speaks English and Spanish, and is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

JJ Ryan

SME, Sustainability, CSR & ESG

JJ is an international business management executive and entrepreneur with 15 years of experience focused on sustainability strategy, reporting and implementation. He has worked with corporations, governments, charities and SMEs across North America, Europe and the Middle East. He specializes in supporting ministers, boards and executive teams to create stakeholder focused organizations that effectively address ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) risks and capitalize on new opportunities. He has started a number of successful businesses that have sustainability at their core and JJ prides himself in leading organisations and teams to break new ground, achieve better results and increase sales and profitability. JJ received a BA in Business Management from Newcastle University, is a trustee of several charities, dog lover and enjoys baking and watching Arsenal win.
